Kutani ware is a traditional craft that has been handed down for over 200 years, mainly in the southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture. Miyaso Pottery, which has a history of over a century in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, has introduced a new accommodation plan that includes a Kutani ware painting experience set, which you can enjoy casually as a figurine that allows you to experience traditional culture and new experiences! ! ■Plan Benefits■ ・One set of each of the two types of "Maneki Neko" painting experience per room Size 6cm (height 6 x width 4 x depth 4cm) [Prosperous business] The maneki-neko with its right paw raised is a cat that "beckons good fortune." "Good fortune" here mainly refers to financial luck. This maneki-neko is perfect for those who wish for better financial luck and increased fortune. [Inviting many customers] The beckoning cat with its left paw raised is a cat that "invites people." For that reason, it is often placed in restaurants, service businesses, and other establishments that want to attract many customers. -Free rental of painting experience pens You can freely paint a plain Kutani ware "Maneki Neko" with a special pen. Enjoy it as a summer vacation independent study or as your own original interior. You can enjoy it at home, but we also lend out special pens for free in the hotel, so you can experience painting at the hotel! - Paid baking service You can take the painted "Maneki Neko" home as it is and bake it in a home oven. We can also bake it at our hotel for 500 yen (tax included) per pair, limited to "15:00-19:00". If you would like to do so, please call a staff member at the front desk. ■Painting process■ 1. Thoroughly remove any oil or dirt from the "Maneki Neko". ② Color it with your favorite color using a special pen. ③ Heat it in a household oven range at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes. ④ Cool it for more than an hour and it's done. ■Notes■ Please be careful not to touch the painted area. If you take it home after painting and before firing, the coloring will not be sufficient, so please dry it well and wrap it in plastic or something to prevent the color from sticking. The color may change after firing. After firing, it will be very hot, so please cool it well before taking it out. Please be careful when taking it home as it is fragile. We cannot accept returns or refunds after the product has been handed over. ■Miyasou Pottery■ A pottery factory founded in 1914 (Taisho 3), this Kutani ware pottery factory in Yahata-cho, Komatsu City has been producing ornaments every day for over 100 years. Yahata, Komatsu City is a rare area in Japan where ornament base pottery factories are concentrated, and has very advanced technical capabilities. In recent years, we have been producing a wide variety of base materials to meet modern demands, such as base materials for character products. In order to convey the charm of Kutani, both old and new, we are actively working to create, rediscover and disseminate new appeal of Kutani ware, for example by collaborating with unique Kutani ware artists.
